Just because something’s plant-based, it doesn’t mean it’s good for you. That’s certainly the case with canola oil, the second most popular vegetable oil in the US. So what’s the problem with this popular cooking oil?
27 million metric tons of canola oil were consumed worldwide in 2020.
Sometimes people assume that as a vegan, all plant-based foods are on the table for me. That is definitely NOT the case. Any food that’s processed, genetically modified or generally unhealthy should be avoided. That’s applies to vegetarian and vegan foods as well.
I don’t use a lot of oil, I have to admit. I find it unnecessary. However, canola oil is WAY more than unnecessary, it’s straight up dangerous. This highly processed, GMO oil is funded by Monsanto, forced onto farmers and is doing serious damage to our collective health.
In this episode, I go deep into the dangers of canola oil and why you should stop using it altogether. There are plenty of healthy plant-based oils out there that taste better, cook better and are altogether better for you. Don’t waste your money on this cheap, fattening, genetically modified poison.
