Posted at 12:11h, 16 OctoberInterview was enlightening. A lot of good info to feed off of. However, your fatal convenience portion on sunglasses seems a off. Correlation does not mean causation. So when you say a higher percentage of people who wear sunglasses get skin cancer, this doesn’t mean that sunglasses are the cause of skin cancer. It probably means that people who wear sunglasses spend more time in the sun and therefore are more prone to that particular cancer because of over exposure of sun without proper lotions. This clear oversight gives me pause when listening to your show, because I’m unsure how you are reading and interpreting these studies before recommending the audience to change their lifestyles. I hope you take a bit more time to analyze and question these studies in the future that you’re quoting before presenting them to your audience.

You didn’t mention what eye doctors think about sunglasses or reference any studies from the point of view of ophthalmology. I’ve always struggled with light since I was born. In all my childhood photos I have my eyes closed, because I can’t take light. I understand what you’re staying from a dermatological point of view, but I don’t think we can tell everyone to just give up on sun glasses. They do serve a purpose.
