Homemade Sprouted Raw Hummus

Below is a very simple, yet totally delicious recipe from my SuperLife kitchen to yours! Enjoy!

KITCHEN UTENSILS

Blender

Medium Bowl

WHOLESOME INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup dried organic sprouted garbanzo beans*
*Soaked covered in water for 18-24 hours. Rinse with fresh water and drain. 
1 clove garlic
1 minced serrano pepper, optional
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon unrefined sea salt
2 Tablespoons sesame tahini
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

STEPS TO SOMETHING DELICIOUS

Add all ingredients into a blender and blend for 15-20 seconds or to your chosen consistency (I prefer mine with a little texture) and then ENJOY!

There’s lots of protein and lots of versatility with this recipe. It can be used in any meal or snack!

    Do you wait until the beans have sprouted before making this? I soaked mine for 24 hours and they haven’t sprouted yet. Last time I tried sprouting garbanzo beans it took several days.

      Great question Jerry – you are not waiting for the beans to become sprouts. Soaking the beans for 24 hours makes the beans easier to digest, and deactivates components that can make minerals contained in the beans otherwise difficult to absorb. Enjoy!
