Have you ever wondered what could have been if you had just grabbed an opportunity and said ‘yes’ to something? Sometimes doing the right thing is just taking a chance and seizing the opportunities in life.
My guest for this week’s episode is a kindred spirit, and I’m stoked to call him a friend.
You may know Steve Wright as the former NFL player for the Dallas Cowboys circa 1981. But, did you know he’s also an intensely passionate innovator and entrepreneur?
Steve’s entrepreneurial streak first appeared when he noticed that so many of his teammates were taking hard knocks and sustaining avoidable injuries. Early on, he became a proactive advocate for better safety equipment out on the field, which he still campaigns for today.
Fast forward to 1994, and Steve and his business partner Mike Davis have just founded the world’s first sidelines mist cooling system called Cloudburst Misting Systems. It was so effective that in 1996, they won the Atlanta Summer Olympics cooling contract, which catapulted this innovative technology into the public eye. Since then, he has kept on innovating, creating and being an awesome human being.
In this mind-bending episode, we get a deeper view of the humble origins of Steve’s career. You’ll hear how most of his success stems from taking on a “Forrest Gump” mindset, and why Steve ended up as a survivor on reality TV. You’ll also hear how living a minimalist existence has created a life that is certainly worth living.
In This Episode:
