Giving presents is one of the most cherished traditions of the holiday season. But that colorful paper you’re wrapping each gift in is incredibly wasteful. Why is wrapping paper still a thing??

40% of the world’s industrial logging is used to making paper, and half of that is used for making single use wrapping paper.

We sure use a lot of energy to make fancy paper we’re just going to rip up and throw away. Why? I understand the tradition of wrapping presents, and sure, I enjoy it, too. But what I don’t understand is that in the year 2021 we haven’t gotten the message yet that all this wrapping paper is incredibly wasteful and terrible for our planet. 

Not only are we throwing billions of tons of paper away to sit in landfills, we’re spending money on this crap! You’re adding to the already giant price tag of the holiday season on items that are completely unnecessary. But I get, there’s pressure everywhere to continue this ridiculous cycle.

But I’m here to tell you it’s time to stop the madness! There are so many other creative ways to wrap presents. There’s no need to use this cheap, toxic, shiny paper that’s just going to end up polluting the Earth. Before you go out and buy that colorful wrapping paper, glittery bows and sticky gift tags, listen up and make some easy changes that could make a HUGE difference. It’s time to get creative!
